Phillips County Health Systems (PCHS), in collaboration with K-State 105 and the University of Kansas Health Systems, invites the community to attend an interactive healthcare sustainability meeting on Thursday, November 7th, at 6:00 PM at the 4-H Building in Phillipsburg. A light meal will be provided to attendees, making it easy to join us for an evening of meaningful conversation and collaboration.
This gathering provides a unique opportunity for the community to actively engage in discussions aimed at building a sustainable and high-quality healthcare system that remains locally accessible and patient-centered.
Background & Mission of the Initiative
The State of Kansas leads the nation in the number of hospitals at risk of closure. Through this initiative, we are creating a space for community members to work hand-in-hand with healthcare leaders to examine relevant data and strategically plan for a healthcare system that meets both present and future needs. By working together, we can keep high-quality, patient-centered care accessible and sustainable
in Phillips County.
Progress So Far
This K-State 105 project recently held its kick-off meeting, bringing together community leaders,
healthcare representatives and dedicated residents to explore long-term solutions for local healthcare.
Our initial discussions set clear priorities for the initiative:
Clear Communication & Transparency: Prioritizing trust-building and open updates to the public to maintain patient and employee support.
Access & Affordability: Striving to keep services accessible, affordable, and private for community members.
Workforce Support: Focusing on fair compensation and schedule models for healthcare
employees and fostering community integration for skilled team members.
What to Expect at the Upcoming Meeting
During the meeting on November 7th, community members will have a chance to share their ideas through facilitated small group discussions. The event will foster a collaborative atmosphere where everyone’s input will help shape our collective vision for healthcare in Phillips County. Attendees will help guide the project’s direction, with an emphasis on creative, realistic solutions to the challenges our rural community faces.
