Active Shooter Drill

PCHS

Philips County Health Systems will hold a full-scale emergency training exercise on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 9:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in and around Phillips County Hospital and Phillipsburg Middle School campus.

The exercise will focus on emergency response to an active shooter incident on the Middle School campus and is being staged by the PCHS Emergency Preparedness department, in collaboration with local emergency responders. It will involve a simulation of the hospital’s crisis response plan and procedures and will help assure a coordinated, timely, and effective response and recovery in the event of a major incident in the community.

There will be significant law enforcement and emergency service present during the exercise. The public is being notified ahead of time to avoid any confusion.

The exercise will be closed to the general public. Deb Hadley, Chairman of the EPP Committee, will be available for media questions following the completion of the drill. Local media planning to attend the drill will need to contact the hospital’s PIO, Theresa Hughes.
